Offensive Political Bias - Amazon.com

I was searching for a book on Amazon.com today, and was able to quickly find it...and Amazon's obvious dislike for conservative thought (and as far as I'm concerned, conservative customers).

As you can see, Amazon equates conservative thought with disinformation. Other books listed as related searches include books that are critical of liberal thought and behavior, so it would seem that Amazon believes that conservative thought is disinformation.

Very interesting.

Seeing as they consider me to be a person who spreads disinformation (as I try and spread conservative thought as much as I can), I do not believe I will spend my money with this company ever again. Especially since they work so hard to keep people from getting their customer service telephone number (see: http://clicheideas.com/amazon.htm for more information on this).

I was annoyed by this enough to go and check out the definition of disinformation on Dictionary.com. What I found was as follows:

disinformation
n : misinformation that is deliberately disseminated in order to influence or confuse rivals (foreign enemies or business competitors etc.)

Please spread the word on this. So...I say let's NOT spend our money at Amazon.com! There are plenty of other booksellers out there that do NOT dislike us or use derogatory terms to refer to our the authors that agree with us! I wonder if they list the word 'kook' for books on flying saucer abductees!

The books that pop up are likely books in which the author-submitted summary and probably reader-submitted reviews contain the words searched for. It's not bias, it's an objective computer, the only bias is coming from the authors themselves or the reviewers. For example, if Ann Coulter says in her summary that she's "attacking the disinformation put out by liberals" he book may very well show up on a search for "disinformation."

That said, I think most liberals would welcome a conservative boycott against a company that give significant political donations to the GOP. If the conservatives turn their back on Amzaon, they might well start sending that money our way.

I'm a libertarian with conservative values and I definitely believe the MSM is biased liberally. I tried doing that search on Amazon but didn't get any "related searches" box. Have they changed their system since you posted that blog? What did you type in to get those search results?
